Awareness Workshops

The only charity in Great Britain to do so, Borderline Arts offers a BPD-specific Professional Development Certificate. This training is tailored to the needs of health and social care professionals (or students) who support adults living with the diagnosis. Workshops are held at our Derby office with affordable fees for those in employment and not.

Please check back here, or on Facebook or Instagram, for updates on upcoming training sessions.

Alternatively, email: workshops@borderlinearts.org if you would like to find out more about whether we could run a workshop for your place of work.

Creative Educational Workshops

Our creative educational workshops are designed to be interactive and engaging. Participants will have the opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings about BPD, gain deeper understanding about the condition, and learn how to sensitively relate to someone living with it. We aim to include a facilitator, who has been diagnosed with BPD, to provide genuine feedback and share their expertise as a service user. Each participant will receive an information handbook and a certificate to take home.

The session is divided into two parts. The first part explores feelings related to the nine criteria used to diagnose BPD, using word games and creative activities. The second part involves voluntary role play to consider how the criteria and symptoms affect individuals in specific situations. It also discusses how to respond to individuals with BPD. Previous attendees have found the session especially helpful in increasing their awareness and confidence in supporting individuals with BPD.

Positive Feedback

I really enjoyed the Borderline arts training yesterday, Hearing about the lived experience of individuals with BPD was extremely insightful and will definitely improve my future practice. I would highly recommend this training to others and think it would be invaluable for fellow preceptees.
